What now? I want to declare the second year in the life of Mostly About Food the Year of Development. The posting machine might not be too well oiled, but now the site is up and running, the next step is to get creative and start putting some more effort to the comics, both in terms of drawing and writing. I have a few pretty good ideas, which are terribly work-intensive, but as they say in Sweden, I just have to bite the sour apple and get on with it.

One of the things I have been hoping for is more comments. It may be that my comics just aren’t very thought provoking, so most people don’t have that much to say or ask about them. But an increase in reader interaction would be very welcome indeed. The stories might need to be tweaked so that there would be more discussion about them. I also intend to add more features and ”non-linearity” in the comics and the entire site, so that reading the comics wouldn’t be as straightforward as usually. I like video games with plenty of side quests, so why not web comics where the reader gets to decide how the story continues? In comparison to printed ones, web comics have a whole lot of more possibilites, which just can’t be left unused. I don’t want to reveal more, for I’d like to maintain some element of surprise, when the comics start to evolve from their current state of traditionalism. |

I don’t expect any large changes to the current layout or structure of this site, but I plan on some improvements, like updating the links section, adding some more drawings here and there, plus a special feature, of which I won’t tell you more than that they are often found in computer games and even dvd’s these days. Some of this should be done during next week. |

So, those were my thoughts on the first year of Mostly About Food. There’s only one more thing to say: namely thanking most sincerely all of you, who have been reading my comics. I hope you have found the stories entertaining and that you keep on checking for updates. While you wait for new stuff, remember to eat well, drink reasonably, turn up the volume and, as Robert Crumb puts it, keep on truckin’!
Yours truly,
|
